Breaking news -Great Taste 2022
I am thrilled to announce two of my products have been named among the top food and drink producers globally this year, picking up a highly prized 2 -star Great Taste award for my 100% Grassfed Leg of Lamb and a 1 -star Great Taste award for my 28 day Hung 100% Grassfed Beef Rump Steak.
More than 14,000 products were put through the competition’s rigorous blind judging process; and Emma’s Ewesful Acres Leg of Lamb was dubbed a “Tender, juicy and flavourful. Cuts nicely. The meat is close-grained and quite lean. The flavour is deep and rich and is nicely juicy. Tasty fat. The skin crisps up beautifully and has a deep flavour. A treat to eat” from judges at the world’s most coveted food and drink awards. Only 1,237 were awarded a Great Taste 2-star – ‘above and beyond delicious’
The rump steak was described as “This steak looks appetising and appealing with a glossy finish and juices coming out of it. The meat is tender, succulent and melts in your mouth, reflecting the quality of the cattle and their diet. The provenance story is impressive” by the judges.
I am very proud of the meat I produce from my animals on conservation grazing however I am even prouder of the way my animals enhance the soil health and biodiversity of the habitat in which they live.
I am thrilled that both my entries have been awarded stars as only 5,556 products to receive a Great Taste award in 2022 (which is only 39.1% of the total products entered).

I have received very exciting news that I have been short listed as a Finalist in the Great British Food Awards 2021 for my 100% grass fed, grain free lamb leg joint.
I am thrilled to receive this recognition especially following my 2 Star Great Taste Award in 2020 for my lamb shoulder.

Great Taste, the world’s most trusted food and drink awards, has announced its stars of 2020.
Out of 12,777 products sent in from 106 different countries, we are thrilled to announce that our Grass Fed Shoulder of Lamb has been awarded a 2-star Great Taste award, judged as above and beyond delicious!
Judged by 144 of the most discerning palates, belonging to food critics and writers, chefs, cooks, restaurateurs, producers, journalists as well as food buyers from Selfridges, Fortnum & Mason and Waitrose, Great Taste is the most coveted of all food and drink awards. As well as a badge of honour, the unmistakeable black and gold Great Taste label is a signpost to an outstanding product, which has been discovered through hours and hours of blind tasting.
The Judges were looking for great texture and appearance, quality of product and a truly great taste and amongst their comments they said that Emma’s Ewesful Acres Lamb shoulder was
“Utterly delicious – melting golden fat, but not too much of it, really tender, delicately flavoured meat that falls off the bone when carved. Juicy, but not too greasy. Textbook.”
and
“The juicy flavoured meat falls away perfectly from the bone. A very good quality piece of meat indeed, one worthy of any banquet”
New Forest
Marque
The New Forest Marque is awarded to produce which has been grown, reared, caught, brewed, produced or processed within the New Forest.
During the autumn months, some of our lambs take a holiday to the New Forest in Hampshire to ensure they have enough to eat through the winter. They are looked after by Emma’s parents whilst there. Once the lambs have overwintered in Hampshire they are sold as delicious New Forest Marque Hogget throughout the following year.
As a business, we are keen to support New Forest Marque as it promotes the importance of buying Quality Local British Produce which is key to the success of small rural businesses like Emma’s Ewesful Acres.
